MEZZY HOTTIE

Mezcal Martinez + HOPMEZ

Yield: makes one cocktail

Time: 5 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 oz. HOPMEZ

  • 1⁄2 oz. Cynar

  • 1⁄2 oz. Carpano Antica Formula Sweet Vermouth

  • 1⁄4 oz. Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur

  • Orange peel, for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Fill the cocktail shaker with ice, mix it the HOPMEZ with sweet vermouth, cynar, and Luxardo and stir until chilled.

  2. Strain into an old fashioned glass, hold a lighted match over the glass, and squeeze the orange peel to release its oils over the cocktail.

  3. Garnish the cocktail with the orange peel.

BLOODY MEZZCHELADA

Bloody Mary + Michelada + HOPMEZ

Yield: makes one cocktail

Time: 5 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 oz HOPMEZ

  • 4 oz light Mexican beer (such as Corona, Pacifico, or Sol)

  • 4 oz Tomato juice

  • 1/2 oz Fresh lime juice

  • Tabasco sauce

  • Tapatio hot sauce

  • Worcestershire sauce

  • Horseradish

  • 1 pinch Celery salt

  • 1 pinch Ground black pepper

  • Garnish: Lime wedge, Lemon wedge, Cucumber spear, Sweet pepper slices, Jalapeño pepper slices & Queso fresco

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Combine HOPMEZ, beer, lime juice and beer in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice.

  2. Shake the contents for at least 30 seconds

  3. Shake briefly and strain into a pint glass filled with fresh ice.

  4. Add Tabasco, Worcestershire and Horseradish to your liking.

  5. Garnish with a lime wedge, a lemon wedge, a cucumber spear and a skewer of sweet pepper slices, jalapeño slices and queso fresco.

HOT MEZZ BOMB

IPA + HOPMEZ

Yield: makes one cocktail

Time: 20 secs

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 oz HOPMEZ

  • 1/2 bottle IPA of your choice


INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Fill HOPMEZ in a shot glass.

  2. Fill the pint glass half way with your choice of IPA.

  3. Drop the shot into the pint of beer, and drink.

ABOUT HOPMEZ

Born in Oakland, Made in Oaxaca

Hop Mez was conceived during a locked-down homebrew session in Oakland. This unique agave spirit is triple-distilled with centennial hops; the forward flavors of the hops are toned down just enough to allow the subtle notes of agave espadin to shine. Coming in at 40% ABV, the final spirit delivers a remarkably smooth flavor profile of sweet maguey, spice, river rock, and mountain water.
